Certified Data Protection Practitioner (CDPP) course – March 2024

Just letting you know I’m again presenting the Certified Data Protection Practitioner (CDPP) course in collaboration with the Association of Data Protection Officers, Ireland (ADPO) and the Irish Computer Society (ICS). It will be next available in Dublin on three days in March – Tue 12th, Wed 13th & Thu 15th, 9;30am to 5:00pm. Then the mid-morning one hour course exam. will be on Thu 21st March. The venue is Nexus Human Ireland, 22-24 Strand St Great, Dublin 1, D01 W1W4, the excellent Computer & Business Training & Certification centre. (And this is within a very short walk from the Jervis Luas stop in the Red Line.)

The course fee is €2,450. That’s said, a 10% group discount is provided. So, if the two or more of you book to attend together, each of your fees would be reduced to €2,205. I would also note that your course fee includes your first year’s membership fee of the ADPO & ICS, should you wish to become a member.

As described by the ADPO & ICS, organisations can be confident that they’re well reaching compliance with the GDPR and other applicable data protection legislation by sending key staff on the CDPP course.

The ICS was the first organisation to provide data protection training in Ireland, and the CDPP certification has proven to be a highly regarded award for Data Protection Practitioners since 2007. The key word in this course title is “Practitioner”. That means it’s mainly not legalistic – the chief aim is to give attendees an understanding of the practical implementation of data protection in the course of their work. For example, organisations must regularly implement GDPR Article 25 (“Data protection by design and default”), Article 32 (“Security of processing”), and Article 35 (“Data protection impact assessment”).
